“We learned how to use macromedia fireworks and dreamweaver and how to manipulate images to create a webpage.” – young person
In order to involve young people and in the spirit of NOF out of school hours activities, the partners agreed that we would run a web training workshop during October 2004 half term. We wanted to train the young people in web design over a two day period. Nine young people from Intake and Lawnswood Schools participated. You can see the results by clicking on the names on the left.
“I was amazed by the creativity and technical ability of the children involved, I teach first year web design at the university and these young people are at a higher standard already.” – creative professional
“The programme for the first day only took 2 hours so they were able to progress more quickly. They reached a level I never though they would achieve. I enjoyed it!” – creative professional
“The pupils worked at a high pace and intensity over the 2 days, the facilitators ascertained the pupils' individual level of skills at first and then pitched their programme at just the right level. Given the pace at which they worked, an outcome focussed approach was maintained throughout.” - learning mentor:
“The sessions were great and I would have liked to have had more time
to work on it.” – young person
