Egerton Park has specialist Arts College status. Based in the centre of Denton, in Tameside, Greater Manchester, we aim to provide opportunities for all students to learn and achieve, and prepare all students for the opportunities, responsibilities and experiences of life. We aim to raise achievement in non arts subjects by developing creative approaches to learning.

In this Project we worked with students identified as ‘disadvantaged’ or with poor attendance to work alongside students across the whole age and ability range, including those identified as gifted and talented. Some stuck with the project and showed a marked improvement in behaviour, attendance and staff relations.

We run a wide range of after school activity including drama and theatre visits, electronic keyboard sessions and a choir, learning to play a musical instrument, poetry and photography. According to Ofsted, “The arts are an outstanding feature of the school.”
