Network schools, sharing the process and the outcomes
Discussion with individual schools at review meetings and within CAPE have built on the successes of the programme and supported the collaborative work between schools and outside creative professionals, and impacted on the curriculum. All the schools recognise the new skills that staff have gained from the partnership, and the benefits to their teaching and pupil learning.
“As the school is a specialist arts college we had a whole school training day on the arts at the beginning of the year for staff and our feeder primaries. Due to the CAPEUK work taking off, we will be setting up a CAPE room looking at creativity in teaching” – Teacher Newall Green High School.
“Teachers have gained enormously. We have worked with our partner school in Leeds, teaching them what we learnt, and we have also taken the ideas and techniques into our partner primaries.” – Teacher Egerton Park Arts School
